In CQ, we will conduct a competition called CTF (Capture The Flag), which cybersecurity professionals around the world engage in. The competition uses the systems listed below, so please prepare a computer/system environment capable of running them.

Note: In the field of information security, CTF refers to a hacking contest where participants use specialized knowledge and technical skills to find hidden Flags (answers) and compete based on the total points acquired within a time limit. In addition to solving quiz-format problems, participants may also engage in simulated offensive and defensive battles within networks.

Please prepare a computer that can run the following software, and download and install the software.

  1. Web browser (recommended: Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge)
  2. Text editor (Visual Studio Code, etc.)
  3. Binary editor (for Windows: Stirling Binary Viewer, etc.)
  4. Wireshark (network traffic analysis tool)
  5. Oracle VM VirtualBox (virtual environment software, for running Linux OS such as Ubuntu in a virtual environment)
